Katelyn and Kruger’s intimate Santa Barbara wedding at the Belmond El Encanto was so full of love and joy that I’m not even sure where to start. It took a lot not to just share the entire gallery on here; every detail was so intentional and meaningful, as was every person present. Katelyn and Kruger chose to have an intimate Santa Barbara wedding with their closest friends and family so that they could fully soak in the day and the celebration. They spent the rest of the weekend with their closest family in Santa Barbara to celebrate everyone being together and their families becoming one. Katelyn and Kruger are truly two of the kindest, intentional, and driven people I’ve ever met, and their love for each other was evident throughout their wedding. I am so grateful to have been a part of such a wonderful day and to have witnessed so many special moments.
One of my favorite parts about their day was all of the small details. Not only were these details beautiful, but almost every one of them was meaningful to the bride and groom. All of the stationery and the vow booklets were made by Katelyn. She creates beautiful paper goods for a living, and I will be sure to link her site down below. The flowers were all picked out and arranged by Katelyn as well, and she made the bracelet and earrings she wore. The cufflinks that Kruger wore and their ring dish both belonged to her late father and were a beautiful way to incorporate his memory into their big day. They wrote their own personal vows to each other in the vow books made by the bride, and read them to each other just after their first look. This is a great option for those who still wish to have a formal ceremony, but who also want to exchange more personal and private vows without the pressure of an audience.
Their ceremony was full of tears, laughter, and a whole lot of love. We celebrated after with margaritas and bridal portraits around the grounds of the Belmond El Encanto. Katelyn and Kruger then joined their friends and family for an intimate dinner on a gorgeous balcony overlooking the ocean. Everyone exchanged heartfelt speeches, hugs, and a few mandatory tequila shots. The rest of the night was filled with dancing, a lot of laughter, and even more memories.
To me, one of the greatest parts of their story is that Katelyn and Kruger were actually supposed to be married on March 10th, not March 9th. About a week before the wedding a forecast of heavy rain rolled in for the 10th in Santa Barbara, and Katelyn and Kruger accepted that they wouldn’t be able to use their beautiful outdoor venue to its full potential. A few days before the wedding, they made the decision to take a leap and move the festivities to the 9th, and they pulled it off with flying colors. All of their vendors and guests were on board, and they got to have the outdoor wedding at the Belmond that they dreamed of. Even with the last minute changes, everything at the wedding went off smoothly. This Santa Barbara wedding has my heart and is a day I don’t think I’ll ever forget. Hope you enjoy these glimpses into Katelyn and Kruger’s love and celebration!
