This Malibu bridals session with Mallory and Leif was so beautiful and special that I felt like it deserved its own post. They drove into the Santa Monica Mountains with me the weekend before their intimate Santa Barbara wedding and got all dressed up in their wedding gear because they knew they wouldn’t have as much time on the day of for formal portraits. Their wedding was small and intimate, with only their closest family and friends attending, so they wanted to use that time on their wedding day to soak up more quality time with their loved ones. This ended up being the perfect solution, and would be an amazing option for couples who feel like their formal portraits just aren’t going to have enough time on their wedding day or who want bridals at a different location. We were able to get so many beautiful photos, explore a new spot, and get to know each other before their big day.
Mallory and Leif are two of the sweetest and easy going people I’ve met. There was absolutely no stress from either one of them during their Malibu bridals session or their wedding day, and they pretty much radiated grace, kindness, and love wherever they went. We started their bridals session in the parking lot where Mallory got changed and Leif so patiently waited to see his bride-to-be. We walked into the mountains with Leif in the lead so he couldn’t see Mallory, and set them up for their first look under the prettiest oak trees. His reaction was the sweetest (first looks get me everytime) and he couldn’t stop gushing about how beautiful his bride-to-be looked.
After the first look we explored the hills, ran around in the fields, and took pictures till it was too cold for us to take it anymore. I am forever grateful that these two chose me to capture their love, and am equally as obsessed with their wedding day as I am with these bridals.
